Watermelon Party Picnic Set

Nothing says summer quite like the sweet, crisp taste or the bright red and green colors of a watermelon. This party set will bring that summer happiness to any occasion whether it is a barbeque, pool party or birthday event. It would even be an adorable baby shower theme! The set includes a variety of pieces including a swag, watermelon wedge, watermelon half slice, napkin/tableware holder, snack dish and waffle cone wrapper. By making slight changes to the cutting files you can create even more decorations for your event.

The watermelon wedge can be used as a place card holder or to hold signs designating the different foods at your feast. Leave the slot off the top and you can use it as a small treat box. Make several wedges, place them on their side next to each other and you can make a watermelon ring. The napkin/tableware holder could be adapted to make a cute invitation. Trim off the top just above the watermelon slices to make a pocket to slide your invitation into.

Assembly is simple. The green stripes on the watermelon are made with a Pazzles chalking tool (or cotton swab) and dark green ink or chalk. Be sure to do all inking before gluing the layers together. Then glue all decorative layers on before assembling the project. Once the glue is dry, fold on the perf lines and glue the tabs to form the boxes. The waffle cone holder is made to fit the Keebler™ brand cones but you can easily resize to fit other brands.
