The ‘Shocking’ Truth About Static

There are many factors that can determine the performance of the Inspiration and its cutting abilities from weather and humidity right down to the location of where you have your Inspiration. It can be ‘shocking’ but did you know that static in your house can affect the performance of your Inspiration?

Lately when I’ve been using my Inspiration the pause button comes on, and the machine freezes while it’s in the middle of a cut. Is there something I can do to fix this problem?

Vanessa M. Corona, CA.

Ever have one of those days that you feel you just can’t get the static out of your hair, and clothes. Well that same static can be transferred to your Inspiration just as easily as moving across the carpet and simply touching your cutter. Once the Inspiration has been shocked the pause light will come on and freeze in the middle of a cut. There are rubber feet on the Inspiration and for most, depending on the environment that you use your cutter, those rubber feet will be enough but for others it may require a little added care. You can purchase inexpensive rolls of rubber cabinet liners at your local Wal-Mart or grocery store. Simply lay the liner out and place your Inspiration on top of the rubber mat. This will be enough to be a conductor for the static in your home, and keep the Inspiration running at maximum performance.

The idea of the rubber mat is a wonderful idea. I live in Florida and with the crazy weather we have now the static in the house is crazy. Thank you.

Sharon…I can relate because I too live in Florida. I like this idea so well, that I might even place my laptop on some rubber. Can’t hurt…right? We can always count on Tatum to come up with simple, inexpensive ways to solve a problem.
