I like to browse my local Hardware store and find great bargains to use with my Pazzles Inspiration Creative Cutter. The other day I found these glass hurricane lamps including the candles, on sale! There were only two left, at a great discounted price, so I snapped them up. The lamps were lovely but rather plain, and I thought I could make them look more special with a touch of vinyl using my Pazzles.
In the Pazzles Craft Room Library I went to the ‘Search Gallery’ and typed ’flourish’. There are so many lovely cutting files to choose from that I was spoilt for choice. I narrowed the designs to two in the end, which are Damask and Fillegree Medallion. I deleted some of the tiny elements without losing the essence of the designs. I first cut out the design on paper just to ensure I had the correct size for my hurricane lamp. When I was happy, I laid my black vinyl on the mat and selected weeding in the Cutting Menu. This makes the process of removing the vinyl a lot easier. I used transfer tape to place the vinyl design on the glass and used my Pazzles chizzel tool to ensure the vinyl stuck down well onto the glass. I then carefully removed the transfer tape to see the beautiful vinyl design.
Vinyl decorated items are quite addictive and once you have mastered the application they turn a simple item into something quite stunning. I think I may have to pop back to the shops to see if they have some more of these on sale. Considering the price of the hurricane lamps and vinyl, this makes an extremely cost effective decorative item.
