Ok I admit it, I tend to leave the guys out of the equation when I’m crafting. I think its because I love using pink, flowers, butterflies, and glitter. Lol. Sorry guys. But not to worry, this one is for you! Father’s Day is right around the corner so I thought I would make a masculine project just to honor them! This army knife doesn’t have a single girly thing on it. The blades and corkscrew actually pull out of the knife, just like the real thing. I think it adds an element of fun to the box that will wow him.
Though I left mine blank, you can add a Father’s Day message (or any message) to each of the blades by using the print and cut feature in the Invue Software. I also think it would be cute to have the kiddos write a personal message on the blades or paste their pictures onto them before you assemble it. I hope you have a fabulous Father’s Day and enjoy giving your special dad this very unique and fun box.

This is awesome Heidi. Thank you. I’m always looking for masculine things since I only have boys in my family.
Wow, this is so COOL Heidi. I bought my husband the real knife a few years ago which he loves but this would be so great to give him for Father’s Day. Thanks for the file and instructions.
Heidi, this is so awesome!
Heidi! This is over the top!
oh Heidi this one is “AMAZING” great job.
OMG the timing of this is perfect … the engraved swiss army knife that we got for my nephew arrived the same day that this project was posted. It must be a sign – I guess I can’t just drop it into a gift bag like I had planned! I’ll even use a white gel pen to add his name so that it matches the engraving on the actual knife. I just have to make sure that I have some red cardstock left!!
You’re a legend Heidi – this is FABULOUS!
This is a cut above. Great idea. So good for men and boys.
My son has been begging for a pocket knife. Would it be mean if I made him a paper one instead 🙂
Thank you SOOOOO much for posting this project. It was posted on the same day that the knife for my nephew arrived in the mail, so I knew that I had to make this box. I changed the logo and added engraving to match the actual pocket knife, added a toothpick, and made the box deeper to fit the knife & its case. I used metallic contact paper to the posterboard before I cut the the blades and other grey pieces. It turned out awesome!! I posted pics in the member gallery.
Tip: If you don’t have any pop dots handy, use your Vue to cut quilling strips and roll them to use as the hubs for the blades to swivel on.
Zeta I love your quilling tip! Very creative and resourceful!
Yes Michelle, that would be mean…lol But funny none the less..tee hee
