What’s the time Mr. Wolf?

back-to-school-clock2

Back to school is such a frantic time of year for the children and for parents but it can certainly be exciting too.

Do you have young ones who are learning to tell the time? If so, this project is perfect for them, and for the older children who may need to practice their time telling skills as well.

With a bit of ‘out of the box’ thinking, this pretty ‘floral’ clock complete with leaves for the minute and hour hands will be a fun way to help your kids tell the time.

I used a file from the Beautiful Blossoms Collection as my base and then by searching for ‘leaves’ in the craft room library selected a couple of nice leaves for the hands of the clock.

For the minute hand leaf, I used my embossing tool to create the veins and it looks great.

The numbers I cut out using Bernard MT Condensed font and used kindy glitz for every 15 minute interval. The kindy glitz worked beautifully to highlight the edges of the leaves too.

I decided to use fall theme colours for this time of year (in the northern hemisphere anyway!) and I think it looks really pretty.

Visit my blog and see how I extended this project past a 15 minute one by adding another layer for labels of o’clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to the hour.
