Have you ever had something like sand, seashells or any other very small piece of memorabilia that you didn’t know how to share? This week’s project was created with just this in mind.
While on vacation, Jeff and I picked up some very tiny seashells that were perfectly shaped, but too small for basic display, so I began thinking of ideas of how to display them. I thought of shaker cards, but that was just not going to work. That is when I realized I could do a simple frame with a shaker box on it. This would allow me to put the year, location, add a photo, and have the memorabilia all in one place.
I have included the elements you will need in the file, plus a few extra options.
I hope you enjoy this project as much as I do. I’m so excited, because it was the finishing piece I needed for this dresser drawer (to read more about that, you can go to my blog) that I repurposed into a shelf for vacation memorabilia. I just smile whenever I look at this now. It took me from really liking something to loving it.

OH MY GOSH!! Klo this is such a great idea. I have sand from our favorite beach in Kauai and have not figured out how to display it. This is such an awesome idea. Thank you.
This is a fabulous idea Klo! I love how it turned out–perfect for lots of small memorabilia, I can see an entire shelf lined up with these with items from many trips.
Such a cool idea! I love the doodling on the corners.
Beautiful project !!!!!
I loved how this turned out! I especially like that it is simple, practical, and lovely.
