Now that the holidays have passed, we need to consider those poor folks who celebrate their Birthdays during the cold winter months. No picnics, no pool parties, and no outdoor celebrations. However, with our Pazzles die cut machines, one of the adorable designs from the craft room, and some ingenuity, we can create a lovely card that is snuggly and warm like a soft blanket.
The Snow Girl design is in the Pazzles Craft Room and is the focal point to this card. Converting it to be drawn by eliminating a few lines was easy. It can be drawn on watercolor paper, Bristol paper, or a paper appropriate for your desired coloring method. Here I used Bristol paper, and colored it with watercolor markers for a soft look. The snowflake for her hat was cut, colored with a shimmer pen, and adhered to the hat after coloring.
The Pazzles Piercing Tool was used to create the stitching lines. Because the patterned paper had a busy pattern, placing one piercing mark almost on top of the other made the tiny piercing holes more visible and easier to stitch with embroidery floss. Once the Pazzles piercing tool has done its work in combination with the embossing mat, cutting the center circle and edges can be done right on the embossing mat.
The circle frame with the sentiment words welded to it, was made using the tools in the InVue software. The circle drawing and outline tools were used, and the Lucida calligraphy font sentiment was welded using the subtract weld tool. For added sparkle, the snowflake design was re-sized and added to the circle frame. The snowflakes were drawn with the Pazzles pen tool and a Sakura glitter pen.
A pre-made 5 x 7 card base was used, but you can easily cut your own using the card template file. To add a dimension and shadow effect, sheet foam was cut just smaller than the patterned paper card front. The layers were then adhered with liquid adhesive.
