Elegant Pen Holder

I like making storage containers so when I got a new set of markers I decided to create this marker holder that would hold 20 markers.

The back piece has .022 chipboard behind the cardstock. I added a Pazzles double flower and placed a button brad on it and glued it on. I then added a metal owl charm and flatback pearls. The Pazzles Pen and Ink image was cut from heat transfer vinyl and ironed onto the cardstock before I glued it to the chipboard.

The top with the holes is glued to 4 other pieces (front, sides, and back). The trim also has 4 sides to glue on to the sides. The trim was embossed using the Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder and a Texture Boutique Embosser. Flatback pearls were added to the front. I also added 2 more metal owls to the front. The Pazzles Flower Banner was a print and cut that I curved a bit so it could look more 3D.

In order to keep the markers from falling out, I created a bottom piece to glue to the inside. All sides are glued to the inside.

I made my pen storage container using Die-Cuts with a View and Core’dinations Cardstock, but when I make another one, I’ll be using .022 chipboard for the whole thing. The one I made is sturdy, but it would be a lot sturdier using the chipboard.
