DIY Bookmarks for your Bookworm

Do you have someone in your life who loves to read? Is that bookworm you? Bookmarks can be so much more than just a page marker. They can hold a special message, or a favourite quote, and they can be pretty to look at.

Here, I’ve created three different bookmarks that you can either make for yourself, as gifts, or use them as favours for parties or class gifts.DIY Bookmarks for your Bookworm

Two of them are basic fold over designs with magnets attached so you’re sure not to lose your page! The third was created with a basic bookmark file from the Craft Room Library and a pennant file.

For the first fold over bookmark, I used the Elegant Plaque file and stretched it to suit a bookmark size. (2” wide by 10” long) with a fold line at 5”.  A simple rectangle with the text ‘Reading is dreaming with your eyes open’ and an embellishment finish off the bookmark in a snap.

The second bookmark is simply a rectangle 2”x 10” with a fold line at the 5” mark. I then rounded the corners and added the MK Stacked Books file and the text ‘Fiction’s My Addiction’. This bookmark uses the fabulous print & cut feature. All I needed to do was add magnets and it was done too.

Finally, the navy blue bookmark utilizes the Bookmark file and one of the many Pennant files in the Craft Room Library.  After a little resizing to suit my taste I cut out these two elements, ran the base of the bookmark through my embossing machine and added ribbons and bling embellishment, and this too was done.

These bookmarks as so quick and easy to make, and can be personalized in every way. I love the magnets as they really ensure your page will not be lost.
