Today we are doing our homework! It is back to school time and everyone is getting prepared. I have created two quick back to school items using one file from the Pazzles Craft Room. I am using the School Pencil file to help both the teacher and student!
A note “FOR” the teacher. I found an over-sized clothespin at the craft store. Mine measures just under 5 inches in length and over 1 inch in width. I used my Pazzles software to draw a rectangle representing the clothespin. Then I placed the rectangle on top of the pencil file, and re-sized the pencil to fit just around the clothespin.
Here is the finished product! Mom can also make use of this on her desk or even add a magnet to the back to hang on the fridge. I think it would be cute to make a magnets for each kid to hold those important papers that need attention (like a field trip slip). I’ll show you how to do something similar in the next project.
We can go one step further and add words to the pencil. Again, I opened up the School Pencil file. This time I chose the size I wanted the pencil to be. I wrote the phrase (or name) that I wanted displayed on the pencil and laid the phrase on top of the pencil image. This time I re-sized the text to fit my image.
I decided to make this pencil into a door sign that the student can use to let his family know that he is busy studying!
Both pencils were made using cardstock and I applied decoupage medium to both to make them more sturdy.
