Matchbox Cards

This set of cards is cuteness overload! In an era where emoji’s convey most of our feelings, I really wanted to make tiny cards that are smart and fun. I absolutely love that the card opens in a matchbox style, with a cute sayings on the outer and inner covers. I used a slightly thick card base in a brown shade that I picked from a local store, just to keep it close to a feel of a match box.  I love my pen tool and drew the sayings and elements after which I did a quick cut.

I colored few areas with my copic markers. The markers have some really light shades they help in creating perfect background strokes or just help in highlighting the most important areas. You can use any marker you have or even water color the background first and then use your pen tool for the sentiments.

For the outer cover, I glued the sentiments or the objects first with a double sided tape and then glued the sides of the box. This way helped me to work on a flat surface and so it was definitely easy. On the other hand, for the inner insert I glued the sides first and then glued the elements because it helped me place the elements perfectly.  I hope you like the tiny tiny cards as much as I loved making them. These cards are simple to make and I am sure these cards surely have the power to strike a conversation! More than anything, once opened you will surely see a smile on a face!
