It’s Nice to be Recognized

I used my Inspiration yesterday and it worked great, but today when I came in to use it the Inspiration is not being detected by my computer?

Just like not recognizing a face in a crowd, it’s as equally frustrating when your computer doesn’t recognize your Inspiration. One of the first things you will want to try is plugging directly in to a power outlet vs. using a power strip. Remember, power strips don’t last forever and if the Inspiration isn’t receiving the appropriate amount of power, it won’t be recognized as a device plugged in to your computer. Also, try changing out the USB cable and trying different ports on your computer. I hope these recommendations help you if you ever find your computer and Inspiration do not recognize one another.

I am so glad that you mentioned that power strips don’t last forever, because I thought that they did. As long as they worked, I assumed that they were still good. Unfortunately, I learned through my husband’s boss that that is not the case. Her apartment burned to the ground while she was at work. The culprit was her power surge protector AKA Power strip. The fire department said that people are unaware of how dangerous these surge protectors can be when they age. Hers wasn’t that old….five years…at least not old my my standards. This was recent. I need to go shopping for new power strips!

Well none of the above allowed my brand new straight out of the box to be recognized on either my Vista desktop or XP laptop. Any other ideas?
