I know we have talked many times about how important it is to save your work as you go. Even though I know that, and at many times have been the one preaching that, I still sometimes forget! You know how it is, inspiration comes over you like a wave and before you know it you have spent an hour or more making what could possibly be the best piece of work you have ever done and then in an instant, it’s gone. The power goes out, the computer crashes, the cat leaps on the keyboard…there are all kind of causes but the result is always the same; you have just lost all your work. I HATE that sinking feeling of knowing that my project has just evaporated in front of my eyes as I sit and think “Why oh WHY didn’t I save my work?!”
We hate that feeling just as much as you do, which is why in the Inspiration Studio Pro software we have added an Auto Save feature. This feature automatically saves your work every few minutes so that even if you forget to save, your project is still safe. You can access the backup version of your project by going to the File drop down menu and selecting “Recovery”. Watch the video to learn all about this very simple tool.
Thanks for this video…I can now go in and change the time for saving my files. I have been wondering how to do this!
My Pazzles program just died the other day in the middle of creating a Sherriff Woody cutting file. My husband came running to my shrieks of dismay, and thank goodness I remembered the auto save feature, which he helped me navigate to reinstate my work.
Now to watch the video so that I can do it myself…
Unfortunately, I have had to use this too! 🙂 Fortunately though…it worked, and my project was saved!
I just watched the video on AutoSave then went to change settings on my computer. Neither of the options talked about in the video were there. (Save…Backup and Settings…Save…AutoSave time). I have only had my Inspiration for 6 weeks so I would think it would have been included in the software. What should I do?
Auto save is a feature in the PRO software which is a purchasable, optional software upgrade. You probably have the standard software that comes with the machine.
