Varying Pressure Settings

I hope you were able read the blog posted by Amanda last week and took a tour of the Craft Room. It was nice to see the many amenities that are offered here for our Craft Room members. I hope you’re taking advantages of the forums, videos, workshops as well as all the awesome images in our image library. You can never get too much of a good thing, and when it comes to your membership, there’s a lot to take advantage of! The Craft Room is also a great place to visit with other Inspiration users who use their machines on a consistent basis and can offer input on shortcuts, cutting different materials, and what pressure settings they use with their Inspirations. Take advantage of the resources that are available to you to help make the learning process easier and more enjoyable. Even if you don’t have friends to craft with locally, here in the Craft Room everyone is a friend!

A group of my close friends all have Inspirations. I finally decided to make my purchase and I’m so happy that I did, I love my Inspiration! I’ve noticed that we all use different settings but get the same results. Is it normal that my group of friends are all using different settings?

Your settings that you use may not be exactly the same as your friends but that shouldn’t worry you. There are some factors to keep in mind that can effect your settings such as the last time the blade was changed. The settings you are using might be different simply because the blade that you are using is older or newer than your friend’s blade. Cutting pressures can also change due to the humidity in your area, even down to your household. Settings can even vary slightly from machine to machine simply because not every machine is exactly the same.  Keep in mind that just because the settings may not be the same, that doesn’t mean that the settings you are using are wrong, or shouldn’t work for you. Shh…don’t tell, but I’ve even labeled my Inspiration so that it doesn’t end up at someone else’s desk! Let’s just say I’m pretty partial to my cutter, we have a relationship. I know what settings work best for all the different papers that I cut, and my Inspiration continues to give me satisfactory results. So don’t get too excited when your settings may not be exactly the same as those crafting around you. The idea behind the Inspiration is to get the perfect cut—if you’ve found a setting that works best for you, but differs from others don’t let that worry you. Keep using what works best for you!

I am always playing with the pressures for cutting, I enjoy getting the best cut for the paper I am currently using. I love my Pazzles. Thanks for all you teach us.

I am new the cutter. I have played around with the different settings but can not seem to get the paper to stop tearing as soon as it starts to cut. After the first cut the remaining image is usually okay. Its just the beginning of every cut that snags the paper. Any ideas?

I’m really struggling to use my pazzles. Is there anywhere in the Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom area I could go to get help. Hands on demonstrations etc.
