      Little House Pop Up Card

This has got to be one of my favorite projects to date! As soon as I saw the pop up card template I knew I wanted to do a little house scene. I think this card would be great for a housewarming card, but honestly it could be used for just about any occasion. Switch out the colors and the cottage for a spooky house and it would make a great Halloween card. You could make a great winter scene too. There just are so many possibilities! This card uses a lot of different colors of paper but only needs a little piece of each one so hopefully you have some scraps lying around like I did!
      Supplies:
Pattern Paper – I used Wild Saffron Petite Stripe paper by K&Company
Yellow Cardstock in 2 shades for sunflower and for main part of card
Cream cardstock for inside pop up of card
      Brown Cardstock
Scraps of various shades of brown and cream cardstock for cottage
Scraps of white cardstock for clouds
Scrap of green cardstock for grass
Scrap of orange cardstock for sun
      Thread
      Brown ink
      Blue ink
      Stickles in Cinnamon
      Pop up dot
      Adhesive
      Assembly:
First I cut out all the pieces of my card. I assembled the cottage. I also inked the edges of all my clouds. I then took the two sets of clouds that were matching and sandwiched them together with glue and a piece of thread in between. Make sure to have the thread placed so it will hang in the center. I also inked my fence a little bit to give it character. I then took my cream piece, which would become the pop out, and folded. I attached the clouds with thread through them to the inside top of my pop out. Pay special attention to how they hang so that you can get the length right. I had to mess with this a little to find the right length. I attached the orange sun and the cottage to the square blue piece that would become the background. I used a pop up dot on the cottage to give it a little dimension. I then glued the whole background piece to the back of my pop up, making sure that the edge was flesh with the fold line. I then attached the entire cream pop up piece to my main card.
To create the sunflower on the outside, I inked all of the edges of the petals and then curled each petal around a ballpoint pen. Try to make the petals a little inconsistent so that the flower will look more natural. I took the brown circle that would be the center of the flower, crumpled it in my hand, and then applied stickles all over one side. I glued this all together and added it to the front of my card.
