      Happy Birthday Card inside

      Happy Birthday Card
      by Pamela Conner

I do believe this Whitewash Collection is my favorite of the Core’dinations line. I’ve made a birthday card for my project, but you could use the same layout for another occasion if so desired. I decided to use one of my Provo Craft Cuttlebug embossing folders called, “Textile” to emboss and then I sanded it with a nail buffer to get the inner core to show through. I also used a coordinating textured cardstock with a white core for the eyelet border and sanded it as well. That border is one that I designed some time ago for a birthday card that I made for a good friend of mine! I decided to design a corner treatment to match the border. All of my panels were accurately cut using my Pazzles Inspiration, as was the border and corners!!!

Now I want to speak of the “faux metal” look that I achieved on the corners, frame and buckle. To get that look I used silver embossing powder and a heat gun to set it. Immediately after the third application (while embossing powder is still very hot), I used a Stampabilities “Tapestry Pattern” rubber stamp to stamp the pattern which gives it a metal antique look!!! On my card I actually used my “Labels Four” die by Spellbinders for the frame and “Ladies Fashion Buckles” die for the buckle. For each one I cut a piece of fun foam to mount the cardstock on and then I used a Krylon “Silver Leafing” pen to color the sides.

The silver element I used on the inside of the card is 85-A from the Pazzles “Swirls and Twirls” CD. The envelope is one that I designed years ago for my Craft Robo and then I converted it for my Pazzles Inspiration.
