      Fabric Purse 3

I have been experimenting with cutting fabric recently and have used a cotton fabric stiffened with iron on interfacing. This is the bag made up.

    • It kind of reminds me of a Mary Poppins carpet bag. So, what are you going to pull out of it?! :-) Nicely done. BTW....did you use the fabric mat to do this or the regular one? What about fraying when you pull it off? Just curious.

I have been doing all my fabric cutting on the Standard Mat. I have found a technique that avoids fraying to date. The technique can give two effects soft or stiffened fabric.

Soft - sandwich your fabric between two sheets of freezer paper.
Stiffened - sandwich your fabric between iron on interfacing (on the back) and freezer paper (on the face).

I have put some more examples onto my blog http://www.cutandcreativity.co.uk
