      My First Inspiration cake!

Required emergency repairs this afternoon (before this evenings party!): replaced some hearts because the black had run (DO NOT use jam to adhere as the cake shop said - listen and adhere to Chris's advice!!!!!) and replaced one border on the top heart. Also added the heart spray - made these from gum paste - even easier to use than the fondant.

this is beautiful!!! I can't believe the cake shop said to put jamm to adhere. If your local cake store sells tylose powder you can make your very own edible glue. Just a bit of tylose powder with a little bit of water will make a glue . Don't use to much just a tiny polka dot on what you're trying to glue .

Well, it was more the cake shop lady told my friend to adhere the thin fondant layers over the cake, and she then advised me to use the jam as it was not as sticky. As it was my first attempt, I listened. But I learned my lesson, and will stick to (no pun intended) the glucose syrup - works well, only a tiny bit needed, can be warmed in the microwave or over warm water, and doesn't make things run off. Will make a note and look for the tylose powder, thanks Angie.

Have found the tylose powder, Angie! Local cake shop had it. Will try that for the next cake.
