... so, lessons learned whilst making this cake: do not make/cut the fondant pieces 5 days before, they become too brittle even if well covered and sealed in plastic; definitely make the cake the day before icing and decorating; a standard cake size is approximately 2 inches high; check, check and triple check your design measurements; a good sharp, small knife is handy for when you make your cake side designs too big; and best of all - photoshop is great for erasing those mistakes!
