      Etched Mirror

My entry mirror I got for $2.50 at an estate sale. I learned some valuable lessons etching something this big. Patience was the first. I tried to do it all at once and ended up not allowing enough space around the vinyl to avoid some spill over of the etching....so then I added the scrolls to camouflage it. I need to go over some of the lines a third time with the etching cream. It has to go on heavy or it doesn't etch deep enough. You are not suppose to use the etching creme for large spaces.

I'm going to do the mirror just behind the front door next....and that has a very big area to be etched, so we'll see just how good that turns out.

I have also considered doing this. Thank you for your input and suggestions. Now to decide which mirror I should do. Smile

This is awesome. A cheap mirror....some backbone...and look at the results! I love these kinds of stories/projects!

Very pretty. I don't think I'm brave enough for etching cream on large areas. I would have taken the cheap way out and used white vinyl. :-)
