      Twirl Wand

While visiting my family I needed to come up with a fun project for the neighbor girls so we made these twirl wands. The wands are inked skewers decorated with homemade beads. For the twirl pin I used 16 gage wire that I wrapped from the base to the top of the skewer. I brought the wire up through a piece of stir-straw at the top of the skewer and adhered my cut out apples to the stir-straw. The last step was to put at swirl twist in the very top of the wire to secure the apples. When you blow on the end of the wand the apples spin. Note: if you make this project don't forgot to mirror every other apple as I did.
