After watching the recorded class on vinyl, I decided to cut a vinyl pattern to act as a resist for copper etching. I drew the barrette design in Adobe Illustrator and cut it in vinyl with my Pazzle. I then used a jeweler's saw to cut the blank from a sheet of 24 gauge copper and applied the vinyl to the blank. I was very pleased that the vinyl protected the fine detail of the design during the etching process. Finishing steps included adding a patina with Liver of Sulfer, polishing and shaping.
You are sooooo out of my league! I can't begin to understand this process. I do, however recognize the greatness of the end product. Thank you for sharing.
I am impressed with the amount of effort put into your design and barrette -I know who ever receives it will be impressed with the amount of hard work that went into making it perfect.
