The Speed of Your Inspiration

Speed can greatly effect your cut quality. For most of your projects you can use a medium speed with good results, I use a speed of 3- 4 for most of my work, but if you are having trouble with a cut you may want to change your speed. For example, when you are cutting vinyl you may want to use a slightly higher speed than you use for paper. Slower speeds give the vinyl more time to cling to the blade and start to lift from the mat, possibly resulting in ruined vinyl. Using a faster speed allows the blade to glide over the vinyl quickly. Another tip is that if the images are detailed and small you will find using a slower speed will tighten the gaps and will leave a cleaner design when it is done cutting.
