I had a lot of fun creating this Stained Glass Butterflies Cutting Collection. What started out as just one little Monarch, quickly grew to an entire collection. I guess my mind was fluttering with ideas. The best part about these butterflies is how easy they are to make, but they look extremely detailed and intricate. That’s the benefit of an overlay; you can have only two layers of paper, but done right can create a big impact. This is a great project to use your ink pads, markers, colored pencils—anything you want to create the background of your butterflies. I used ink pads in an assortment of colors to create mine. I started out using lighter colored ink on the center of the wings. Then, I inked more heavily on the outside edges using a darker color to create some drama. It added the perfect variance to make the wings look as realistic as possible. I was happy with the results, and hope you’re happy with the collection.
