Peek-a-Boo Card

Before I got my first cutter, I was an avid scrapbooker. Before that I was an avid stamper. I got rid a lot of my stamping collection when we retired and moved, but I still have quite a huge “stash”. I haven’t used my stamping supplies for a long time, so it was fun to play with them again. Creating the rubber stamp using my Pazzles Stamp Kit was not the greatest challenge for me - using the stamp on a project was! I have been away from stamping for so long. This challenge forced me out of my comfort zone, and motivated me to play.

12 Memories of Christmas: April made with the Pazzles Inspiration Vue

12 Days of Memories: April

April is that time of year that the weather starts transitioning from Winter to Summer in the Northern Hemisphere. If you live where there is snow, you might even get a late snowstorm, but most places start seeing rain. With the rain comes the early flowers of Spring. This layout brings those things together.

12 Days of Memories: March made with the Pazzles Inspiration Vue

12 Days of Memories: March

Hello Craft Room Friends, Melinda here with you today and I am sharing the March layout with you. While March has the fun and festive holiday of St. Patrick’s Day, I still wanted to create a page that was a little different.

Tree Puzzle Box

Our back yard is full of trees. I just love this time of year when all the leaves are changing colors and gently falling to the ground. Sitting on my deck in the cool weather and watching this was the inspiration for this box.

Paper Umbrella and Flowers Garden ...

There is nothing like a soft rain shower to make all the flowers in my garden seem more vibrant and lush, and the scent afterward is just heavenly.  This umbrella wreath reminds me of fun, lazy rainy days.  Lots of vibrant beautiful flowers in all stages of bloom and a pretty purple umbrella to use while we splash in all the puddles. It would also make a fun baby/wedding shower decoration. You could decrease the umbrella’s size and add candy inside it for a fun party favor or you can make it true to size by enlarging it and cutting it on a 12x24 mat. Wouldn’t it be fun to hang this umbrella full of flowers on a neighbor’s door?

Recipe for a Beautiful Garden ...

Every Spring and Early Summer as the cold weather turns and the grass starts to get green, the flowers start blooming and the leaves cover the trees in verdant colors, I get excited and ready to start adding a touch to our own yard for us to enjoy for the next few months.  The past two years we have not done a lot in our new home, so this year we are ready to really get started. As I was thinking of the things I needed to do to make sure our yard is vibrant with color and flowers, I recalled the special recipe that my oldest sister used and shared with us in the past.  We have used this recipe in our past homes and have always left each place with a plush lawn and beautiful landscaping with flowers and bushes that show their colors to the fullest.  So I know it is time to pull out the 'recipe.'   As I was doing that, I realized I could not find it. It then occurred to me, it should be with my recipe swap book that I did years ago with a group of online friends, that I still use.  That meant creating a page.

Spring Shaped Cards

Spring Shaped Card Set

One of the funnest things you can make with your Pazzles Inspiration is shaped cards. In fact, they would be pretty hard to make without your Inspiration. Today I've created a set of spring shaped cards that you can make, and have on hand for your next event. Based on past experience I can tell you that giving a shaped card you've made to a non paper crafter will totally blow their mind!

Easter Bonnet Mad Hatter Hat

Mad Hatter Paper Easter Bonnet

Do you remember the Easter Hat Parades when you were at school? Do your children do them now? I’ve been looking for an excuse to use the Mad Hatter cutting file and making an Easter bonnet is my excuse! I had plans to use Easter bunnies, chicks and other Easter symbols on this hat, but when the time came, the lace and flowers that were next to me on my desk called out to be played with and I liked how it looked.

Celtic Knot St. Patrick's Day Card

Blessed Friend Card

Hello Craft Room friends, Melinda here with you. Today I am sharing a pretty card I created with a St. Patrick's day theme. I decided to use the Celtic knot background card cut file set and created this rendition. The patterned paper I used was from the All Seasons recollections paper stack. I cut the card base out of some vanilla cream cardstock. I then cut the Celtic knot background layer and the flowers from the same cardstock. I inked the edges of the flower petals with some Canary pigment ink from the Whimsy Ink Pad set from Close To My Heart. I then used my McGill flower sculpting tool to give the petals some form. I layered four layers of flowers and staggered them on top of each other. This gave me more petals to work with. For the centers of the flowers I added some bling gems assortment.

Glitter Butterfly Tags

Join the Pazzles Design Team this week as we share a few of our favorite things with you. I'm jumping in with the Design Team this week to share a few of my favorite things. My latest obsession is gold glitter paper. I can't get enough of it. My favorites based on color and cutting ability are the American Crafts Pow Glitter Paper (caramel) and the Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Paper Pad (Gold). Both are so pretty and cut so nicely.

A Garden Makeover

For many years I have been saying I wanted to create a nice backyard garden area that was fun and functional. As I have looked at magazines, online and just chatted with people, I realized I had the ability to not only have a nice garden, but with my Pazzles, some garage sale finds, spray paint and some vinyl, I was able to get a good start on my creation.

May Day Flower Basket

Each year for May Day (May 1), my kids and I make and leave baskets on neighbors and friend's doors. Our basket takes a different form every year. This year I have made a tussie mussie to stand in as a May Day Basket. A tussie mussie is traditionally a very small bouquet that is usually worn on the breast. Sometimes it is larger and held in the hands. Wikipedia says “The term tussie-mussie comes from the reign of Queen Victoria (1837–1901), when the small bouquets became a popular fashion accessory.” My tussie mussie is 12" inches tall. In the Pazzles Craft Room Library you will find many files to help you dress up your “basket.”

Pazzles Project Pattern: Spring Things ...

You've likely got a pile of spring themed photos waiting for a home. We've just finished up the Easter holiday and everything is blooming. Gardeners are busy planning and kids are dreaming of summer. Spring is well underway here in Idaho. Our Project Patterns in the InVue Software make it so easy to create the perfect layout to document your spring. Once you have downloaded the files you can open the Project in the InVue software and simply click to place different elements on your page. They are perfectly sized for the page and you can mix and match the elements to make dozens of different pages from one project.

Spring Wreath Printables

Spring Wreath Print and Cut ...

In real life I stink at making wreaths. I've tried and failed a few times, so I was pleasantly surprised when my paper wreaths turned out. I created these wreaths in the InVue software and it turns out having an undo button is a handy thing. If there was an undo button in real life I'm sure I could master real wreath making too.

Spring is in the Air ...

A daffodil planter to brighten your home and mark the beginning of spring! All files for this project came from the Craft Room library!

Life In Bloom Cutting Collection

The first of March usually marks the beginning of the winter thaw here in Idaho. This year it has been strangely mild and tulips are already starting the shoot out of the ground. Some of you in the US have had record breaking snow this year and your tulips are buried beneath two feet of snow. Either way, spring will come! Our latest cutting collection Life In Bloom captures all of the beauty of early spring and makes it easy to share the bits and pieces of the season that bring you joy. Cut out the individual layers or use these files for Print and Cut.

Butterflies

Stained Glass Butterflies Cutting Collection

I had a lot of fun creating this Stained Glass Butterflies Cutting Collection. What started out as just one little Monarch, quickly grew to an entire collection. I guess my mind was fluttering with ideas. The best part about these butterflies is how easy they are to make, but they look extremely detailed and intricate. That’s the benefit of an overlay; you can have only two layers of paper, but done right can create a big impact. This is a great project to use your ink pads, markers, colored pencils—anything you want to create the background of your butterflies. I used ink pads in an assortment of colors to create mine. I started out using lighter colored ink on the center of the wings. Then, I inked more heavily on the outside edges using a darker color to create some drama. It added the perfect variance to make the wings look as realistic as possible. I was happy with the results, and hope you’re happy with the collection.
