12 Memories of Christmas: November made with the Pazzles Inspiration Vue

12 Days of Memories: November

I wanted to incorporate the textures and colors of November on this calendar page. I used real burlap and twine along with traditional fall papers in small prints. The subtle pop of light teal blue is a fun surprise but works well with the oranges, browns and green. It also brings in a touch of winter to the page.

Thanks Frame with Pen Detail by Pazzles

Pen Tool: Thanksgiving Home Decor/Decoración ...

This month there is a special celebration in the USA: Thanksgiving day. I love this holiday because it is the kind of celebration that would be celebrated around the world. It is time to give thanks for all we have: health, family, friends, work and all other things. So for this special month, using my Pazzles Pen Tool for the project of the month, I decide to create a home decor.

Tree Puzzle Box

Our back yard is full of trees. I just love this time of year when all the leaves are changing colors and gently falling to the ground. Sitting on my deck in the cool weather and watching this was the inspiration for this box.

Thanksgiving Easel Card

Thanksgiving Rip Strip Easel Card

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I love combining files from the Pazzles Craft Room to create new things, especially when the end result has not just one nifty feature, but two!  This one is so easy and is a greeting card with a built-in festive sign your recipient can display to add to the warm fuzzies encompassed in this blessed celebration of gratitude and cooperation. I used the Rip Strip: Full Card from the Pazzles Craft Room Library and some festive papers.  From the file I used the gray-outlined/medium-pink filled piece that folds in the portrait direction which contains the rip strip scallops (hereafter the “scallop piece”), the teal guide piece (hereafter the “teal piece”), the white flag piece (cut off at about an inch and ⅜ from the tips - hereafter the “flag piece”) and the “square pink piece”.

Engraving Tool: Autumn Wall Hanging

I’ve lived in a few places while in the Air Force and I have to say that fall in Georgia is the best I’ve seen. The colors are just beautiful, but green is still present, which is one of my favorite colors. For this project I used an old canvas frame. I took the fabric off and painted the frame black. I must admit I couldn’t decide what color I wanted to make the frame, but the black does make the copper metal pop. The frame I used is approximately 11” x 14” from side to side and top to bottom.

Spiral Text Ink Spot Cards

Making and sending cards is one of my favorite things! Although judging by the pile of handmade cards sitting on my desk and spilling out of every drawer, I must love making them more than I love sending them. I need to get on that! Today I'm adding a few more cards to my bulging stash with these spiral text ink spot cards. They are super easy to make, but pack a punch of autumn with the pretty colors and tiny leaves. I must admit, the tiny leaves are my favorite part.

The season of giving thanks is upon us! Now is the time to start decorating your home. A good way to do this is by decorating a wreath. Use your Pazzles to make designing and cutting easier.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I wanted to create a collection that was a little spooky and a little classy. I started with the curled cat and everything just grew from there. There are so many fun elements in this Scaredy Cat Cutting Collection.

Super quick and easy, these five mini projects will put the scare in your lair in under an heure (ok, that’s French for hour, but it rhymes! Poetic license peeps!) Lickety-Split Luminaries (est. 15 minutes) These are more like lamp shades, in that they have no bottoms or tops, but they’re perfect for quick and easy decorating.  Find your favorite creepy shapes in the Pazzles Craft Room and create your own scary scene with shapes such as the witch from files like Best Witches, the tombstones and fence from the Graveyard Fence Border, the Spooky House, the Howling Ghost, the tree  and Bats (to name a few).   Create an 8.5 by 5.5 inch rectangle then inline it at 0.5 to create a black frame with the center (inline) white, then line up your scene with each element overlapping the one next to it as well as the edges of the frame; select the whole group and Subtract Weld them together in your software. To create legions of lurid landscapes use the powerful software to modify the files to fit your fancy: rotate and crop the Haunted Spooky Tree (with Cut Straight Line) then duplicate to become a brier thicket foreground or use the Spooky Branch in a similar manner.

InVue Project Pattern: Autumn Tags

Tags have become one of my favorite projects lately. They dress up a gift or treat and are quick to create. In fact, I think tags are easier than cards. After pouring my creativity into the outside of a card, I always struggle with the inside. Not so, with tags. There is no inside to worry about!  This set of Autumn Tags has plenty of versatility for almost any fall occasion. There are several fun elements to the tags to get your creative juices flowing. Use your Pen Tool to write the saying on the tag. You can always change the phrase to something you want right in the software so no need to buy separate stamp sentiments. Create a fun shadow stencil by laying down a cut piece and sponging ink or spritzing glimmer mist over the stencil.

Haunted House Shadow Box

Haunted House Shadow Box

Boo!  Isn’t Halloween fun? And what is scarier than a creepy, old haunted house? I’ve included all the files to fill your haunted house. A creepy skeleton, a coffin…nobody knows where its owner could be lurking, and it looks like the witch left her broom behind with her trusted black cat. Don’t even think about going up into the attic with those abnormally large spiders up there! EEK!!  I hope you have fun creating your spooky haunted house. I think it would be neat to add a scary tree and fence and make a whole scene for your mantel. Don’t forget to make a few extra spiders to crawl all over your Halloween table or mantel.

Paper Bag Spooky Tree

Paper Bag Fall Tree

This versatile 3D Fall Tree design can be used as room décor for a variety of occasions. Cut in craft paper, it makes a nice centerpiece for the entire Fall season. It may be fully decorated with colorful leaves, or it may have bare branches with leaves scattered at its base. Cut in black, it becomes a spooky tree that can serve as host to numerous critters from the Craft Room Library, such as the spider, web, black cat, and bat used here.

Dimensional Paper Scarecrow

Happy Fall with a Scarecrow/Feliz ...

We are at the start of the final quarter of year and that means the Fall season is here. Leaves fall and night comes early. It is time  to change the decor at home to welcome this season. I have seen a lot of beautiful decor and I always like the scarecrow that is used in the farms to protect the crops and for decor too.  I decided to make one for my home and I want it to be dimensional. For the Scarecrow I have used the following files: Pumpkin file from the Thanksgiving Cornucopia Centerpiece for the head.

Autumn Window Cling Scarecrow

Window Cling: Scarecrow Wreath

When I was a girl I played with paper dolls. When our daughter was young, instead of using paper dolls, she played with die-cut vinyl pieces called Colorforms. Today we can cut our own shapes from vinyl cling material and create designs for placing on our windows, smooth surfaces, or for using in building creative designs on a vinyl covered board, much as our children did. Today, I had the opportunity to play with Pazzles Vinyl Cling material to make a cute fall decoration for my sliding glass door. I found a nice Scarecrow design and a Grapevine Wreath in the Pazzles Craft Room to adapt for this project.  Since the vinyl I was using was 9” wide, I resized the wreath to about 9” wide. Then I selected parts of the Scarecrow with pumpkin design that I needed. I wanted the scarecrow to be sitting on the edge of the wreath instead of standing, so I transformed the britches portion of the design into a banner. I resized the scarecrow pieces to fit nicely inside of the wreath.  I typed the text using the InVue software, with the Brightside Typeface, and thickened it by shadowing at .02”.
