DIY Grateful Pumpkin Decor
Small pumpkins are just so darn cute and just the right size for fun fall decor, for Halloween to Thanksgiving, and everything in between.
This project works well with real or faux pumpkins, about 4 inches in diameter, and about 3 inches tall including the stem and can be adapted to larger pumpkins and even used with pumpkins of varying sizes.
Completed Decor Works Great on Mantles, Tables, and More!
The message spans about 36 inches using the mini pumpkins and is great for decorating a mantle, credenza, entry table, window sill, or dining table. Add coordinating gourds or pumpkins of another color in between the decorated, lettered pumpkins, or at the beginning and end of the word-formation.
Change the Letter to Spell Other Words
Instead of the letters to spell grateful, spell thankful, gather, or blessings using your favorite font or letters from the Pazzles Craft Room and even swap out the papers shown with some of the wonderful Digital Papers from the PCR for a unique look.
Substitute other letters to incorporate into a welcome home, congratulations, wedding or baby shower, even the bride and groom’s names or the baby’s name and six-digit birth date.
Use Individually as Place Settings
Instead of grouping as a word, use as individual place setting tags for your thanksgiving dinner with the guest’s name on the front tag in place of the letter. Use as place or table markers at a fall wedding or baby shower, or as table markers at the wedding rehearsal or reception dinner. Incorporate them into the shower games by placing numbers on the backs of the tags and drawing for a prize, or by placing one dot on the backs of the tags randomly for the number of prizes you wish to bestow; those sitting with the dots win.
This project assembles quickly and you’ll be set and on to other fun fall activities in no time (about 15 to 30 minutes).
Supplies:
Small pumpkins – real or faux, about 4 inches in diameter and about 3 inches tall including the stem
Cotton string or raffia, cut into 18 inches lengths, one per pumpkin
Quick dry glue (optional: hot glue sticks)
Glue Pen
Cardstock, smooth and textured in tan, cream, brown, yellow, orange
