DIY Giant Carrot Easter Wreath

This giant Easter carrot decor or wreath is a slightly abstract and somewhat thrifty way to add interest to your holiday decorating. This is about 16.6 inches (about 2 feet including the greenery) long by about 6 inches wide at the top of the carrot cone (and could go wider depending on the shape of the greenery chosen – the sample project is about one foot wide across the ivy) and made from inexpensive or upcycled materials you may already have in your craft room or home.

Carrot Body Made from Upcycled Household Supplies

Repurpose a large cereal box into a cone wrapped with masking paper (or paper grocery bag), cover with some jute twine, and add a tag and just enough orange paint to get the idea across, then pop in just about any type of faux foliage and you have a cheery, horticulturish decor piece.

This could be made larger or smaller as you like.Try it with wrapping the jute twine less tight or cover the cereal box cone first with orange paper then let the orange show through with the twine in a zig zag up and down the cone so it covers about half as much as pictured.

Wrap in Jute, Yarn, Packing Sting or Macrame Cord

This could be made with cotton packing string or macrame cord or orange and brown yarn instead of the jute twine. It only takes about 15 minutes to assemble and tie on the tag and add the greenery, and it does take a bit of time to wrap all the jute twine around (though it should go faster if the alternate coverage methods are used) but it gives a fun result.
