I was finishing up a few of my own last minute gift ideas and noticed that the first few cuts on my mat looked good, but as it continued to work its way down the page the impression of the cuts were not as a deep. As a result when I went to lift my images off of the mat the pieces I cut still clung to the paper. I immediately ran another test cut and increased my pressure and right away noticed that increasing my pressure did not help make a difference. I thought that I had recently changed the blade, but quickly remembered that I had been cutting thick chipboard and as a result my blade wasn’t as sharp. Once I changed out the blade and went back to my regular paper cutting settings the images I cut looked nice and clean. I was quickly back on track to cut out my last minute Rudolph noses. I thought a great way to avoid any frustration and keep a log of when I last changed out the blade was to write the date in the back of my manual. That way I had a better idea how long my blades would last if I was cutting a specific material so that I didn’t put myself in a position where I didn’t have an extra blade on hand. Keep in mind that the next time you feel like your Inspiration isn’t cutting the images as good as it had in the past, change out the blade and see if your cuts improve.
