Mini Album Calendar

Calendar Mini Album

Hello crafty friends, Melin here with you today to share my mini album. I was so thrilled to have a chance to create a mini album for this week's Christmas in July projects. I chose to go with a Calendar theme. This makes the perfect gift for special friends and or family. I started with the Scalloped Shaped Frame. I sized it to approximately 8.25 x 8.25. I cut the scallop in white. I cut out seven of them. I then cut the larger mat out in kraft cardstock. I cut out 14 of them and adhered them to both sides of the white scallop mats. I then chose several patterned papers from the DCWV Linen Closet. I love the beautiful soft teals, blues and greens. I created the little mini calendars and the labels for the months. I've included them below for you to download along with a notes journaling card. I printed them out and cut them with my Inspiration Vue.

Holiday Family Recipe Album

When the holidays roll around I start dreaming of all the good food coming my way. The women in my family all have their special recipes that they make holiday after holiday. I look forward to each and every one and I thought it would be a great gift to gather all of those recipes and make an album. I'll make one for every family in our extended family and my hope is they'll be passed on to the next generation. That way my grandkids won't miss out on my sister-in-laws pumpkin bread or my aunt's butter rolls.

Friends Word Book Album

I have always liked the look of Word Book albums, but I wanted to do one with a twist. So instead of just the letter all alone at the end, I put each letter in its own scalloped square to add a bit of fun. This can be a great gift for a special friend. Add photos and thoughts of your friendship together. I have included some different scalloped shapes for using with your Pen Tool to add quotes to. I have also included a few quotes that are fairly generic, but I encourage you to use quotes or journal to personalize it for you and your friends.

Christmas in July Mini Album ...

It's Christmas in July and we've got a week of fun for you. Each day this week we are sharing a mini album with you that is perfect for gift giving. Start creating these now and you'll have Christmas all wrapped up way before December 1. Each album will include cutting files so you can get right to work. We've included embellishment pieces, but don't forget you can customize any of these albums with pieces from the Craft Room Library. Merry Christmas is July Pazzles friends! The first album will be up shortly!

New to the Craft Room ...

We are excited to announce that Design Team Member Melinda Beltran is now designing for the Craft Room Library. Melinda is the owner of Paper Crafting World where she sells adorable cutting files and digital files. Today we've released five Paper Crafting World files in the Craft Room Library and there are more to come in future weeks.

Both Heidi and I want to apologize that this project is being released the day before it's intended holiday. We had a miscommunication, but it's such a cool box I didn't want to skip over it. The shape can be adapted to so many things and it has many other uses besides holding firecrackers. So please forgive us and enjoy this awesome box! ~Michelle I think outside of Christmas, the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. We always have a huge 4th of July celebration and cookout in our neighborhood and it is typically held at my house. It’s so much fun having everyone over and we have made some amazing memories. One of my favorite things to do is to pull out pictures from past years and see how much all the neighborhood kids have grown.

InVue Software Video: Using Layers

Using the layers in the software is a quick and easy to see the layout of your image and helps you get more of a visual on what it will look like all put together. Using Layers This video will show you how to use layers to create a visual of your cutting file prior to cutting it out, these are especially helpful when sharing a file and you want to show how it is assembled.

3rd Quarter Challenge: Your Favorite ...

The 3rd Quarter Challenge is going to allow you create something for your favorite season.  Whether it is the colors, weather or holidays that are in that season that you love, have fun creating any project you choose. Be sure and let us know why this your favorite season in the description. After you have completed your project, go and load it up in the Challenge Folder.   If you need help on how to do that, the instructions are here. If you haven't joined us for a Challenge before, be sure and go read a little more about our Challenges and the prizes you can choose.  Also, the Challenge winner is done by random drawing, so it doesn't matter if you are a beginner or if you have had your Pazzles for years.

Let’s Get Away Beach Card

It seems like the first half of the summer break goes slowly and the last half is over in just a blink of an eye. After the 4th of July celebrations, come most of the birthdays in my family and my wedding anniversary. The month flies by and then it's time to get ready for back to school. I really need a vacation somewhere in there, so I made my husband this wedding anniversary card. Do you think this will be a clear enough hint for him that we need a vacation? I'm hoping he sees through the cuteness of the card to the real meaning behind it! And if not, I'll take matters into my own hands.

2nd Quarter Challenge Winner

Congratulations to createwithkelly! This is what she had to say about her project, "Using the Rainbow Cards project, I changed up the text from Birthday to "father's day" and I got to use my new minc to cut the toner paper and foil the "thanks". Making Rosettes and Swags

This rosette tutorial was posted several years ago in the Craft Room and although it's an oldie, it's a goodie. These rosette fans are super popular right now and make great affordable 4th of July decorations. Watch the video, then grab the cutting files and make up a bunch of your own. ~Michelle Lately I have been spending a lot of time looking in Scrapbook magazines, stores, online shops and company catalogs. Everywhere I turn I see rosettes and it isn’t hard to know why. They just “feel” happy! You can buy them premade, invest in a pricey die with only one size option OR….of course, you can use your fabulous Inspiration to cut them in a multitude of colors, shapes and sizes. I’ll let you decide which sounds more economical, more versatile and more individualized.

A stained glass window is such an amazing piece of artwork. If you've spent some time in a church with fabulous stained glass windows, you've likely had time to study it up close. They are beautiful from afar, but even more amazing close up, when you realize the work that has gone into it. Our Stained Glass Cutting Collection captures a bit of that awe inspiring work in a smaller format so you can make your own mini masterpieces. Cut one design from several colors of paper, then mix and match the pieces for a cool pieced look.

Patriotic 4th of July Bear Layout

Hello crafty friends, Melin back in the Craft Room with you today. I was tasked this time with creating a project with a patriotic theme, so this is what I came up with. I created this layout using a few of the fun Craft Room files. I selected the MK July 4th Title, the MK Independence Borders. I also used the Sparkler, the Independence Hat, the Panda Bear and the Panda Sitting files.

I've got another Cut and Paste Sketch idea for you today. This lovely layout is perfect for documenting a day at the beach or summer BBQ. The layout holds five 3x3 pictures, so you can crop down larger pictures or have your pictures printed square. Remember, just because the layout looks pastel and girly, you can cut it out of darker papers and use it for a masculine occasion as well.

We've been receiving lots of questions about monograms lately. It seems they're a hot trend that's here to stay. Today I thought I'd address some of the questions and give you a few resources to help you make beautiful monograms. The mountains are calling and whether you rough it in a tent or park the RV next to a hotel, it's time to get outdoors and enjoy a little nature. These treat kits will pump the kids up even if the only camping you are doing is in your own backyard. Both versions have the same base piece and are easy to assemble. I'm filling the camper basket with s'mores supplies and the hiking basket with trail mix.
