Marathon of Classes Announcement and Supply List

I know we are going to get doggone tired, but we are going to have a fabulous time learning, laughing and Pazzling.

The Marathon of Classes will start on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 6pm (Central USA Time) and will continue through to Monday, January 21, 2013 with the final class being at the regular 1pm class (Central USA Time)  If you are not sure what time that is in your location, go to the World Time Conversion site to see what time you will join us. To join, simply go to Klo’s Classroom, then Enter Classroom and sign in as a guest.

For those of you that have never been to a marathon of classes, the way it works is, I will teach a class (generally lasts 30-60 minutes long), then we take a break (generally anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the class just taught and time needed for next class preparation).  We will do this around the clock, so you can join us whenever possible or if possible, for all the classes throughout the weekend.  The classes will be recorded for future viewing as well.
Below is a supply list, this may not be all inclusive, but for the most part, it should be complete. If for some reason, we don’t get to a project that is using one of the items, due to time constraints, we will use those items in a weekly class asap.  I am also including links for the items, so if you are unsure what it is, you can look and see if you have it or something like it.
I know that you may have a lot of this, but if you are missing any items, I just wanted to give you a chance to get them.  Also, even if you are unable to get them all, you can still join the class and then create it at a later time as well if you choose.  I just get so many requests on how to use some of these items, that I thought this would be a fabulous time to include some of these items.
Supply List: (for those of you that don’t live in the US, here is a partial list of International suppliers, click here for the link)
Vinyl for the Wall(or if you don’t do vinyl on the wall, you can get a board or frame to make something)
12 x 24 Pazzles cutting mat (for those that will be doing vinyl on the wall or a larger piece)
Pazzles Inspiration Pen Tool (this item is currently out of stock at the Pazzles website, you may need to check alternative sites if you don’t have this and want to have it prior to class)
Polymer Clay (you can get just a white color, then we can add color to it after it is cut), you can to air dry or oven bake, just get a small package
Pazzles Inspiration Pastry Blade (if you have a pastry blade now and use it for food, I recommend getting a second getting a different for the Polymer Clay, so that you can keep your food blade and polymer blade separate)
Shrinky Dink Plastic  (you can get it other places other than Amazon, this was just to show you what I use)
Cereal boxes or chipboard (not too heavy)
Tootsie Roll Bank or Pringles Can (empty, so enjoy the contents first…*grin)
Inks (to match your papers, plus this is what I use, but you can use whatever inks you already have)
Chalks (there are a lot of different brands, this is just one brand)
Cardstock (various colors)
Matching Pattern papers
I am so excited about the projects that we will be doing and look forward to seeing you for this sleepless, but exciting weekend.

Is it just the pastry blade we need or a separate holder too. Is the pastery plade for use with the polymer clay.

I just found out today my daughter in law and my 2 granddaughters are coming up from VA on Fri and staying until Mon. I’ll have to check out the videos!!

Can’t wait for the class. I’m really excited about learing to use my machine for more than cutting a few pieces of paper.

Funny! I was just thinking a couple days ago, “when was the 2012 marathon? it should be about time for a new marathon.” Thanks Klo!!

Charissa, You will want the actual holder, as it has a little more clearance so you don’t have a ‘drag’ on your clay (or pastry)

This sounds awesome! I need a babysitter 🙂 Is there a class schedule/order so if I can’t get the grandparents for the weekend, I can prioritize? Will the classes be available for watching after the fact?

    Thanks

I am working on a tentative schedule now. Many times once the classes start, we have to make changes, due to a class running over or something like that.

At the end of each class, I will immediately put the link up and announce the exact time the next class will start.

Thanks for putting together a class semi-times list. It would be next to impossible to get to all the classes while taking care of the family. Now I will be able to tell the Hubby what times he needs to be available so I can go hide & watch your class 🙂

I can’t wait Klo, I’m so excited, I’m like a little child, lol. I have to get some sleep but it’s only 4.20pm here and still bright, plus the excitement won’t let me sleep, lol. 🙂 Oh and it’s snowing here too and I love to sit and watch it, lol.

I don’t have the exact order figured out yet, I will try and finish that up tonight or tomorrow. We have been moving me back into my room a long with painting, so I haven’t figured that all out. I am going to try and cut out all of the pieces for the classes tonight and tomorrow as well to help me know the best order.

I will probably start with either the wall vinyl, the tootsie roll/pringle can or the card/layout piece. Then will go forward at that point. I kind of have polymer clay and shrinky dink in my mind for Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon.

I hope that helps a little bit

If there is anyway to do the Rhinestones on Sunday sometime I would really appreciate it I have the starter kit but want to know how to make my own designs. Thanks unfortunately I have to work on Sat.

With the way I have the schedule, I’m pretty sure that the rhinestones will be on Sunday, so that should work out good.

I think I’m ready for everything to start. I must say, it has been an adventure getting this ready in the middle of me moving back in to my nearly finished studio/office/craft room. I can find ALMOST everything….LOL
