World Card Making Day Hour 5

WCMD5-Camouflage-Heart-Card

This is the last free file and challenge! Thank you so much for joining us! Remember you have two weeks to complete your challenges and upload them for a chance to win a Pazzles prize!

Have yoTatum_2013_DTu heard of Operation Write Home (OWH)? You can read all about the amazing service OWH provides on their website, but in a nutshell OWH collects cards from card makers everywhere, packages them up, and sends them to deployed troops who them use them to send letters home to their families and friends. We’d love to show our Pazzles support to OWH with a card making drive of our own. Make a card for a soldier to send home and mail it to Pazzles. We’ll bundle them up and get them to their destination. There are a few specific guidelines for these cards so be sure to keep reading for detailed instructions!

Pazzles designer Tatum created the beautiful card you see above with the free camouflage heart file. You may use the free file for your card, but it is not a requirement. We’ve also added a beautiful military themed Proud To Serve Cutting Collection to the Pazzles store which you may purchase at 50% off today only.

Sorry-The free file has expired.

The Challenge: Make a card for Operation Write Home.

Operation Write Home Details:
1. No glitter -really! Glitter is a safety hazard for our heroes, so no cards with any glitter that will flake off the card are accepted. Stickles or pens that apply glitter that will NOT rub off can be acceptable, but please check your cards by rubbing it on a sweater. If it flakes off, it cannot be used. Small gems are fine. Before emailing with questions, please read this post to see if it’s already answered.

2. Include Envelopes.

3. Cards should be sized 4.25″ x 5.5″

4. Leave the backs of your cards free of signatures or stamps. OWH has a special stamp we will add to the back of the card.

5. If you use dark cardstock, line the inside of your card with light paper so that even a pencil will show up. Inside the card make sure there is room for the soldier to write a message.

6. Use quality supplies so the cards will stand the test of time. A hero might be using the sand as a “table” so use good, heavy cardstock!

7. Please keep the cards non-holiday. By the time we collect them and distribute them we may miss the deadline for Christmas cards.

We need to receive your completed cards by October 31 so they can go out as a group. Please mail your cards to:

What a wonderful, generous, thoughtful thing to do and give us an opportunity to step up for our troops! I’ll send you several. Always wondered what I was going to do with all the khaki and drab green paper I have!

    Thank you Tatum,
Very nice card. I’m sad that I was unable to get into members chat and visit with you all.
Maybe next time we have a fun day like this, I will be able to get in.

I just uploaded pics to the WCM Day file and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t see them. Now I realise why, they should have been in by last Sunday and not this Sunday as I thought!! I don’t know where my head is, lol.
