Hello Craft Room Friends, Melinda here with you today and I am sharing the May layout with you. May is a special month for many. It celebrates mom here in the United States. I started by using some Sage Green Cardstock for my background. I then used a piece of pretty patterned paper from the DCWV Timeless Textures Stack. The pretty butterfly laden paper is from the DCWV Four Seasons Stack. The rest of the patterns are from the DCWV Timeless Textures stack. I used a blue cardstock along with a darker green for the mats.
I then used a light cream colored cardstock to cut out the pretty flowers I created. I then used my Crystal Blue Ink Pad to ink the edges of the petals. I used a light yellow cardstock to cut out the butterflies and then inked the cut out pieces with my Crème Brule ink pad. I then used a couple of my Copic Markers to make some markings on the bodies of the butterflies. I then used my clear Tombow liquid glue and some fine glitter to cover them.
I then used my Paper Blossom tools to shape the flowers and the butterflies. I lastly added some foam tape to the butterfly layers to give them a little lift. I love the color scheme of this layout. I was so tempted to go with pink (my favorite color) but forced myself to think outside the color box.
