I always make my own Christmas cards and wanted to try this one. I used a Merry Christmas title from the Pazzles Craft Room library and modified the colors and size to make the cute popup. I also found some designer paper that I had in my stash and used it for the inside of the card.
I used a lot of different techniques to show the versatility that can be used with this card. First I cut out and embossed all the pieces. I then folded the inside piece to make a triangle and the extended pieces to make a mountain fold. It should open and close with the extended pieces completely concealed when closed.
I then made the Merry Christmas print and cut. I glued it to the outlined piece. I then used double-sided adhesive and placed it in the area I showed in the file. I then applied the Merry Christmas title to the adhesive laying the inside piece flat so you apply it evenly. Now I folded the card shut again to make sure it lays nicely closed. I then glued the inside card piece one side at a time with double-side adhesive and making sure not to glue the triangle piece in the middle. It’s a little tricky to make sure it’s even on all sides, so I recommend practicing a little before actually gluing it down. I try to place the point of the triangle in the fold of the card base to make sure the popup operates properly. I then stamped the sentiment on the inside piece.
For the front piece I used a piece of printer paper and lined it 1/8” from the edge and brushed on the Viva precious color for the side edges. I then stamped the wreath and used the Stickles to make the berries on the wreath. Let it dry. I used ribbon from my stash and applied it with double-sided adhesive and folding the edges around the back and gluing them down as well. I then stamped the greeting with the gold and after it dries, stamping again with the red cardinal ink.
