Brave Heart

I think that sometimes it can be difficult to create a beautiful page that is still all about the pictures and not just about all the wonderful decorations we have added. I have seen many beautiful pages that tend to pull me in to the decor on the page rather than the picture they are suppose to be enhancing. So I really appreciate it when I come across a page that has successfully tread that fine line between enhancing the photos and overtaking them. I love how this layout (by Craft Room member Chartem) allows the pictures to tell a wonderful story while still being a breathtaking layout. Thank you Chartem for sharing your beautiful work with us and be sure to check your email!

I was so inspired by the layout that I thought I would try my hand at creating a page with the same elements. It isn’t exactly the same, in fact I changed it to a Valentine’s Day page, but the basic concept is still there. Here is a preview of the cutting file, I hope you enjoy it!

Here are the cutting files for this page!

I have seen this page before, one of the things I like about it is that the picture is actually cut in half between pages and still looks complete. I can’t say how many times I’ve had a hard time with all my pictures not fitting, and have never been so bold to try cutting it in half like that. Very good job.

I don’t remember seeing this page before….but I absolutely love it. And I agree with Toni….one of the things that attracted me to the page was how she split the photo…it makes your eyes follow across the page. I also love the embellishments and the way that they accentuate instead of overpowering them…you are right Amanda..this page rocks.

What a great combination of fabulous photos and design elements that enhance rather than detract from the photos. Love the Valentine page too!

    Amanda,

I agree just the perfect balance. The embellishments/cutting files enhance the photos–doesn’t take away from the main purpose.

I totally agree that the embellishment craze has detracted from so many pages and pictures. This page is absolutely beautiful, balanced, and beyond what all the “gee-gaws” could ever approach.

I often scour websites looking for ideas on layouts. Some pages have so much “stuff” on them that I have to look for the photo! 12 X 12 page is too big for just one picture unless there is a lot of journaling. And I always do two facing pages that go together. Thanks for sharing this great layout!
