CHA Winter 2013 Review

cha-winterIt is our first day back from the Winter Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show and we are exhausted! Tired or not, I couldn’t wait to share our photos and videos from the show floor. There were tons of great new papers and embellishments! We made a lot of excellent contacts and hope to have news of exciting developments in the near future.

I did notice a few trends. Nostalgia seemed to be everywhere, anything from the Victorian era to the 1940s. Vintage and country farm is a popular theme for papers. Owls, chevrons, and feathers—particularly peacock feathers—are still popular. Doilies abounded in papers, embellishments, and stamps.

I think the home arts and crafts like cooking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting are regaining popularity. I saw kitchen themed products and crocheted embellishments. Many of the companies are coming out with their own lines of stamps and fabrics too.

Have fun watching the video which is a mixture of photos and video. I don’t promise that they are professionally done. 🙂 Some are a little blurry and the background noise is in the audio but they give you a peek at what is going to be in your local stores very soon!

    Looked like fun…I haven’t been to a craft show in years…due to the knees :(… think for sharing

    I LOVE that the very first person you have a picture with is Maggie Holmes…love that girl and her husband Brian…I was fortunate enough to be in South Africa with them a few years ago and she is as sweet as her products.

    You also showed one of my favorite new companies the Farmhouse Paper. Angela Moen (she is also the designer of all of the amazing Button Farm albums) is one of my ‘roadies’ and she is uber talented, LOVING her new paper.

    There are so many other awesome paper lines there too. Thanks for taking such great pictures and videos. It was weird not being there this year, but I enjoyed this just as much (maybe more, because my feet don’t hurt…*grin)

    Glad you are all home safe….{{{{HUGS}}}

    I agree with Victoria about needing a support group.
    Thanks for the peek into the new products.
