Pocket Pages Made Your Way

Two Girls and Photo AlbumOne of the hot trends we noticed this year at the CHA trade show is the idea of scrapbooking with pocket pages. Many companies introduced divided page protectors and small journaling cards that fit into the pockets. The idea is that you slip your 3×5 photos into the page protector, add a journaling card and an embellished title card and you have quickly completed a page.

Project Life by Becky Higgins is one of the most popular of these systems; her entire product line is focused on this idea. Many other companies have joined in with the trend, including Simple Stories and We R Memory Keepers so there’s lots of style choices. Many scrapbookers are completing a two-page layout each week, highlighting the everyday moments rather than doing event-focused scrapbooking. As we were walking around CHA, this trend seemed to keep showing up. While I was intrigued by the system and enamored by some of the papers I kept thinking to myself that I could make a lot of these things! As Pazzles owners, we don’t need a 3×5 punch, specialized 3×5 journaling cards, or pre-printed titles sized to fit in a pocket because we can do all of these things with the Inspiration.

I’ve been thinking about pocket pages since we got back from CHA and I think I’m ready to give it a try (and yes—as an obsessed paper crafter, these are the things I think about constantly). I’ll be purchasing an album and some divided page protectors (and maybe some of the gorgeous papers!), but I will skip the tools and pre-sized pieces and make the rest with my Inspiration. While we can design and re-size anything we’d like to 3×5 with the Inspiration Studio Software, the Craft Room Library has quite a few ready-made cutting files that would work perfectly. Here are a few I’m excited to put to use.  Ready to join me and give it a try?
