A sundae like this one reminds me of the dime store in town where I grew up, Hunter’s Drugstore. They had the most wonderful vintage milkshake machine, and even had the spinning stools at the counter. As a kid it was a trip back in time. I loved going there with my grandpa. This was the hot spot for Valentine’s Day, because the local flower shop was set up in the back. It’s where you went to get balloons and flowers for your special sweetie. The best part was going inside and smelling the flowers and seeing the red, pink and white balloons float to the ceiling—and who could forget the sundaes adorned with a cherry on top?! Not a Valentine’s Day goes by that I don’t think about Hunter’s Drugstore, which was my inspiration for this simple Pixy Stix sundae. Enjoy!!
