I’m a little nuts about cute critters and when I spotted this Woodland Squirrel in the Craft Room Library I knew he needed a little time in the spotlight. He is the focus of this quick card, and he looks rather pleased with himself. I added cut out hearts to the background piece with the Handful of Hearts file and then created a fun sentiment using the Inspiration Pen Tool and the Kimmie Font from the Journaling Font CD 1. The pen tool and the journaling fonts are a great alternative to a handwritten sentiment if you don’t love your handwriting. They mimic the look of a sentiment stamp, but you can customize them any way you’d like.
A quick tip about using pieced images as the focal point of your card is to use dimensional foam squares. If you use these double sided adhesive squares between your layers it gives the image dimension and adds a special look to the finished image.

What a terrific card! I love your little squirrel and the way you did the lettering with your pen tool! Thank you for the great inspiration 🙂
Fabulous! Just Fabulous! I love how you cut out the hearts and use the foam squares to give it dimension. I’m thinking V-day card for the hubby! Too Cute!
