Snowflake Embossed Cards And A Giveaway

If the weather outside is frightful, stay inside, and make some winter paper projects. Armed with a few pads of Core’dinations cardstock and the Pazzles Embossing Tool, I made a trio of cards to celebrate the wintry weather.
Snowflake-CardWe’ve long been a fan of Core’dinations here at Pazzles. Distressing the cardstock adds a special element to a project. Using the embossing tool and then distressing it, takes it to a new level. When you use the embossing tool you have two unique looks depending on the side of the paper you choose to use. The embossing tool actually debosses the front of the paper leaving an indention as it moves through the design. Once your embossing is complete and you pull the paper off of the embossing mat, the backside of the paper is embossed and the image is raised. By sanding either of these sides you get a different look.
For this first card I used the Embossing Tool to emboss the Woodgrain Overlay 4×5 into the base piece. I sanded the front side of the cardstock which made the debossed image stand out. I used the same technique on the Frame Tag file, and then cut the snowflake rosette file from the Core’dinations Spotted paper pad, which already has the embossing done for you.
For the second card I sanded the snowflakes on the embossed raised side. I added a cut out sentiment to top off the card and sanded the edges of the letters to get a frosty distressed look.
The final card I embossed the Let It Snow title and the snowflake rosette file on vellum. I love the way the embossing tool looks on vellum.

One lucky fan will win their own set of Core’dinations cardstock to experiment and create with. Enter the giveaway here!
