Here, in the UK we have several more weeks till the end of the school year! I thought I would make a cute gift box for my son’s teacher in appreciation for schooling my son this year. I work in a school myself and know that the teachers love to receive unique, homemade gifts.
I have used the Tennis Box from the Sport Gift Boxes Collection. In addition, I selected the apple from the Apple Tree cutting file also found in the Craft Room Library. I resized the apple to sit on top of the circular tab and cut it out of Kraft card which I covered with red gingham paper. I added a twirled flower between the leaves of the apple using red cardstock and inked up the edges of the leaves and apple. I then added some numbers using fonts in my Pazzles software and cut them out of black cardstock.
I was searching for some lined patterned paper and then thought, “Why don’t I create my own lined paper using my Pazzles software?” I created a rectangular box for the wrap around my gift box and then drew a blue horizontal line and multiplied it several times. I added a red margin and then typed the teacher’s name. I then grouped, rotated my design, and printed it out using my printer. I did not need to make any registration boxes as it was easy enough to cut out the rectangle to make my wrap using a paper trimmer.
Now to my pencil which I Print and Cut, using registration boxes following the video tutorial called Using Cutting files for Print and Cut Projects. Finally, I added a star cut out using the shapes in my software and added a yellow button.
I was particularly pleased with myself at being able to use my skills and the Pazzles software to design my own lined paper and create the look I wanted.

Your project is just darling and reminds me yet again that with a with a little imagination and a little effort we can modify Craftroom files to be just exactly what we need. I’m will be using this idea in the fall to welcome back the teachers at our church’s Christian school so thanks for the great idea!
