Hiking is a wonderful way to enjoy nature and beautiful summer days. Creating a birthday card for hikers using the Fun Folds 3 collection is another fun way to spend a summer day.
The Fun Folds Card collections are easy to cut and fun to decorate. There are a number of appropriate designs in the Craft Room but the Stair Step Gatefold card has great space for creating a large scene. The collections album has a large selection of wonderful designs and I chose a nature themed scene. The Camp Out collection has a pine tree border, the Woodland Friends collection has a fox, skunk, raccoon and mushrooms that were re-sized to fit the space. Combining print and cut animals with the distressed pine tree border make the project faster to complete. Helping to create the scene were mountain tops, the girl hiker and sunshine with clouds. Creating the band to hold the card together was fast using a font on my computer and the boot soles from the Hiking title. The same font was used on the sentiment circle piece, using the Pen Tool. All of the pieces edges were inked with distress ink or distress markers.
Making cards for family and friends is a wonderful pastime, but using the Pazzles cutter and files from the Craft Room to create a unique card around the hobbies and activities of the recipient is even better. Why not create a special card for the biker, baker, sailor or scrapbook maker in your family?

Very nice card. I think I can use this one for my son’s birthday coming up next week. He is an avid hiker, so this is perfect!
