Traditional Cupcake Holder

India is filled with festivals and as a part of the culture relationships are the essence of any festivity. Each festival is celebrated with family and friends and calls for a reunion of your dearest. Most importantly, relationships are nurtured during this time. One of my favorite festivals is ‘Raksha Bandhan’, in Sanskrit it means “Bond of Protection” – it is a celebration of relationship of a brother and sister. It is the day that the siblings pray for the wellbeing of one another.

On Raksha Bandhan, a sister ties a Rakhi (sacred thread) on her brother’s wrist with a prayer for his prosperity and happiness and symbolizing her love. The brother gives her a token gift and a promise to protect her. The sister then feeds the brother with her hands, one or more bites of traditional sweets and other delicacies. Well, for a change I thought how about giving a nice bite of cupcake to my brother instead of a sweet and so made a beautiful traditional cupcake holder for the upcoming festival. I am so excited about this!
