Winter Hat Shape Card

My first interest in Pazzles was the ability to make shaped cards.  You can choose so many shapes and turn them into shaped cards, which are so unique compared to the shop bought cards!

I imported the Winter Scarf & Hat cutting file located in the Pazzles Library.  I duplicated and mirrored the hat, then welded it to give me the base of my shaped card.  I added an additional layer of the hat to the front of the card.  This extra layer keeps the shape of the hat which covers the fold of the card rather than having a flat top.

I then cut out the elements using the Snowed in Digital Paper Pack.  I imported the papers into my software and then reduced them in size so the paper design matched the hat.  I laid the elements of the hat onto the papers.  I then Print and Cut the 2 elements of the hat which I wanted cut out of the digital papers.  Doing it this way meant I didn’t have to worry to create a bleed or if my Print and Cut was not exactly accurate (incidentally it usually is spot on!).

I then adhered the paper elements of the hat onto the front of my card design.  I then cut out the bobble and snowflake in glitter paper.  I raised these elements using adhesive craft foam and added some foliage behind the snowflake for extra dimension.

Shaped cards are fun and easy to create so I hope you give them a go.

In case Joanna doesn’t, get a chance to chime in, I think she free-handed the dashed border but you definitely could use the dashed line feature in the software and the pen tool if you prefer a more precise look!
