I have made several major moves in my life to different states, but no matter where I roam to Idaho will always be home. I wanted a way to show my love for my home state and so this collection was born!
All 50 states are here with the word “home” across them. The size of the states varies of course but the “home” title is the exact same size across all designs. That means you can easily make a collage or multiple matching pieces if you’ve got more than one place you call home!
Use as a decal on your car, on a decorative pillow, or as framed artwork as I have here. I think this would be a wonderful house warming gift or for someone who is moving away like a graduate who might need a reminder of their roots.
I started with a frame for a 5×7 photo that also had a matte around it. I got this one at Hobby Lobby. I wanted a frame that had a bit of depth to it on the inside – almost like a shadow box.
I mirrored my design and cut it. The reason I mirrored it is because I wanted to put the design on the inside of the glass so that the outside surfaces is smooth. This gives it a more professional appearance and also makes the glass easier to clean.
I then printed out some wood from our Weathered Wood Digital Paper Pack and placed it where the photo would go. The great part is that if my decor changes, I can just switch out the background with another paper so that it always matches. I actually printed out several options and they are all in the picture frame so I can switch it out lickety-split any time I want!
That’s it! It is super easy and quick (and I absolutely love the finished results)! I have included more detailed instructions complete with pictures in a downloadable PDF!
