I call this project a DIY Heart Bubble Gift Box, because the top is nicely rounded like a bubble when closed, but when opened, you can see the heart shapes between each of the six panels that form the self-closing lid of the box. The hexagon shape gives it dimensions of about 4”x4”x4”.
If you would like to cut the entire box out of a single 12”x12” sheet of cardstock, you can shrink down the design to fit, resulting in a box that measures about 3”x3”x3”.
The box is adorned with optional small glittered flowers to give it some elegance for any special occasion. Cut as many or as few of the double-layered flower petals to suit your needs. Leave the flowers off if you prefer to use it for a more masculine gift.
You can use any decorative paper of your choice to decorate each of the 6 side panels of the box base and lid sections. You may add a large ribbon or bow through the handle if you like.
Fill the box with special favors, treats such as cookies or brownies, or place a gift card inside. This will make a special gift for someone special.
