DIY Valentine Sweetheart Pocket Purse or Box
The sweetheart candy box is well recognized as a Valentine’s Day treat. So for this project I decided to re-invent the pocket purse file. This project is easy and quick to complete. Make as many as you need. They are fun for school Valentine’s Day exchange.
Purse or Box Style
This project comes with options to make as a purse with the sweetheart candy handle, or as a simple box. The purses are very cute but if you are making for some little boys or you need them to stack more neatly, the boxes are a great choice. Choose what suits your needs best and get to crafting!
Sweetly Sized for Candy
This little box or purse is sized perfectly for several small Valentine’s candies measuring approximately 2.75″ wide by 3.75″ tall and 1.75″ deep. There is room to make it a little larger and still fit on a 12″x12″ piece of paper. You can also shrink it if you want something extra miniature!
Print and Cut Faces
Each side of the box is different. One has an opening (covered with acetate) so that you can see the delicious candies inside. The other side has a Sweetheart’s label where you can put who the candy is from and who it is to. Both sides include a print and cut design. If you haven’t print and cut before, here are some videos showing you how. Once you’ve done it once you will see how easy it is!
How to Print and Cut or Cut and Print
If you have an any computer based electronic cutter, you can print and cut -or- cut and print. What’s the difference you might ask? Print and cut requires your electronic cutter to have an “optical eye” which can see where the image is printed on your paper (because every printer prints just a little differently). If your electronic cutter has an optical eye, Print and Cut is the method for you! Here is a video tutorial showing you how to print and cut using the Pazzles InVue software with the Pazzles Inspiration Vue.
Print and Cut: Basics
This video will take you through the basics of a basic Print and Cut. We have included the image that we used in the video.
If on the other hand your electronic cutter does not have an optical eye, fret not! There is an easy and fail-proof method to we call “Cut and Print” that works great! Here is a video tutorial showing you how to do Cut and Print using the Pazzles InVue software and Pazzles Inspiration machine. You will need a Craft Room membership in order to watch this video.
