DIY Boo Flour Sack Towel Pillow Cover
Versatility is a virtue, especially in holiday decor. I recently became aware of flour sack towels and my creative mind has exploded with ideas for using them.
Here is one of my plethora of ideas: a pillow cover for Halloween! This cover fits a 9 inch square pillow form and just as I’m writing this I came up with an alternate way to make these: dye the towel first!
Add More Colors with Dye!
This would look great as a black pillow cover with white heat transfer vinyl or an orange pillow cover with purple heat transfer vinyl! These could even cover an existing 9 inch square throw pillow (though it may be necessary to use two to block out the color or design of the throw pillow, especially if making as is with the white towel. Fabrics that don’t fray on their edges could be substituted as long as they can be ironed and are compatible with the specific heat transfer vinyl you use.
Quick and Inexpensive
This project takes around a half hour or less, depending on your level of comfort with the process of creating heat transfer vinyl projects. Oh, and do try tie dyeing the towel before adding the heat transfer vinyl of any word or silhouette you like for any holiday or occasion.
Supplies:
Flour Sack Towel
Black HTV
Masking tape
9 inch square pillow form
Optional: dye(s) to change the color of the towel before adding the vinyl
