Take Whisks DIY Tea Towels
Heat transfer vinyl is a really satisfying medium because once it’s ironed on, it’s complete! No multiple assembly steps and the results are clean and crisp.
We are in need of an upgrade of our kitchen towels and I found recently that flour sack towels are fantastic for the kitchen and for other crafting (see my “Boo” Flour Sack Towel Pillow Cover, and Lighted Ghost Decor).
A Silly Pun Project that is done in 20-30 minutes!
I love puns so I modified a portion of the Kitchen Time file from the Pazzles Craft Room Library to add the pun to the handles of the whisks. These flour sack towels are approximately 28 in. x 29 in. and you could substitute any similar 100% cotton flat-woven cloth, even making your own from cotton fabric. This is about a 20 to 30-minute project at most and fairly simple so you could create many for gift giving.
Add Variety with Different Colors and Give as Gifts!
Try dying the towel first with coffee for a farmhouse-style look, or with any color fabric dye. This would be great bundled as a Christmas gift with your favorite cookie recipe and ingredients, an actual whisk and a mug with cocoa, or any other kitchen or baking gadgets your recipient might enjoy!
This also would make a terrific birthday, wedding shower, mother’s day, thank-you for your service, or just-because gift!
Supplies:
Black heat transfer vinyl
Flour sack towel
