Valentines Day

Making Shaped Cards

Often when I am talking to people on our designer chat or through email they are wanting to make a shaped card but don't know how. So I've had in mind for a while now to make a video on creating shaped cards. They are just so easy and so fun that I think even beginners will be able to master the few simple steps.

Exploding Card

Many of you have seen this card (okay, not this exact card, but one like it) in the booth during the 2011 conventions. I had told you that I would put it up as a project sometime and guess what? It's sometime. *smile*

Ruffles and Pleats Cards

I love ruffles and pleats. They can soften a project that is too stark and add class to something that is too simple. Usually, I use fabric ruffled ribbons to add to my projects. But pretty as the ruffled and pleated fabric trims are, they can be a costly addition to my design. Recently I decided to try my hand at making my own ruffled and pleated ribbon out of paper.

Pyramid Box

A simple and elegant box that is exceptionally easy to make and large enough to hold mini candies. Great for favors at a wedding, shower, or party!

Twirled Flowers

Create these six dimensional flowers simply be twirling the paper around a pencil and then curling the petals down. So simple and yet so beautiful you will want to make a whole bouquet!

Candy Cases

Up-cycle small empty plastic cases into sweet treats

Heart Photo Frame Card

Every month I write an article for a web based magazine called Scrapbooking.com. I feature the Pazzles Inspiration and show a project that highlights one of the many amazing tools in the software. I always have the instructions to make the project included but only Craft Room members get the video tutorial and cutting files. The project was inspired by a wedding invitation I helped a friend create. The colors were from our very own Amanda's wedding; that's her and Josh in the photo! I loved it so much that I made a total of 5 cards for the video. This is one of those truly versatile cards that can work for almost any occasion.

Frog Prince Card

Sometimes we read a little more in to something than what is actually said. This card takes advantage of that by cleverly promising a prince. Hey, the card never said what KIND of prince, there can be frog princes too! This adorable card is great for any occasion and is sure to give the recipient a smile.

Fool For You Kinetic Card

We thought it would be a great idea to make April Fool's Cards as one of our projects. When we went looking around for inspiration though we were surprised at how little there is out there! What we could find was usually tasteless and/or unkind. Perhaps April Fool's day isn't exactly the kind of day most NICE people think to make a card, but we were determined that it could be done!

Forever Heart Box

Yes it is that time of year again. A time when the aisles are filled with pink and red, teddy bears abound, and the conundrum of large boxes of sweets and tiny nighties can be found everywhere. All of this can only mean one thing, Valentine's Day is upon us! Of course we all know that Valentine's Day isn't JUST for couples, it is for anyone you love! So here is a beautiful heart box that would be perfect for anyone you want to show that you love this Valentine's Day. This box will make the perfect case for any gift you want to give!

Valentine Boxes

Valentine's Day is this coming Monday and if you walk in to the stores you will see massive displays of pinks and reds everywhere right now. I doubt however that you will see anything quite as beautiful as these treat boxes made by Craft Room member, tarabrown. There are so many wonderful things about these boxes I am not sure where to start. First of all these boxes are absolutely beautiful. Secondly I love how tarabrown took advantage of so many Craft Room features for her project.
